In 2026, the “Latvian Language and Culture Summer School” will take place on site. Participation in the summer school is possible either with a scholarship or at the participant’s own expense.
Application deadlines:
- 01.02.–01.04.2026. for Latvian state scholarships
- until 01.07.2026. for fee-paying participants
Documents to be submitted by participants who apply for Latvian state scholarships:
- completed application form for participation in the summer school;
- Curriculum Vitae;
- a letter of motivation (a personal statement);
- statement / confirmation of the university;
- passport or identity card (ID) copy.

NB: Information for non-EU students.
Students are responsible for their visa application and other related arrangements. Summer school organizer does not cover fees for visa services.
The University of Latvia helps with visa arrangements only to international students whose higher education establishments have entered bilateral international cooperation agreements with the University of Latvia.
Summer school participants who require a visa to enter the EU, should additionally submit:
- completed application form for participation in the summer school;
- Curriculum Vitae;
- a letter of motivation (a personal statement);
- statement / confirmation of the university;
- passport or identity card (ID) copy;
- bank transfer statement to confirm the participation fee payment by 15.07.2026.
NB! The separate language level groups are limited to 13 participants.
