International students can apply for the University of Latvia and Latvian state (the State Education Development Agency) scholarships.

The application for the University of Latvia and the Latvian state scholarships should be submitted to the Pre-Studies Training Centre of the University of Latvia, it being the organizer of the Summer School.

UNIVERSITY OF LATVIA SCHOLARSHIPS

The University of Latvia scholarships are granted only to students demonstrating minimum or good knowledge of the Latvian language.

The University of Latvia scholarship covers only the participation fee - 435 EUR (Latvian language classes, tours, study materials, participation in social and cultural events, a two-day trip to Ventspils (including accommodation and meals). The participation fee does not cover accommodation and food in Riga.

LATVIAN STATE SCHOLARSHIPS 

The Latvian state scholarships are administered by the State Education Development Agency (SEDA). The Latvian state scholarships prioritise students and academic staff from the countries Latvia has concluded international agreements with. The list of the countries (in English) is available at SEDA website.

  Summer school scholarship for the year 2018/2019 amounts to 711 EUR per summer school participant. The scholarship is not issued to a scholarship recipient. SEDA transfers the granted scholarships to the organizer of the summer school.

The Latvian state scholarship covers living in a student hostel, meals two times a day, and a participation fee of 435 EUR (Latvian language classes, tours, study materials, participation in social and cultural events, a two-day trip to Ventspils (including accommodation and meals)).
