Latvian state scholarship application deadline:  01.03. – 04.05.2017.

University of Latvia scholarship application deadline:  01.03. – 14.05.2017.

 

  • Please submit the application form electronically (signed and scanned) together with the necessary enclosures by sending an e-mail to sagkursi@lu.lv.
  • Participants who have applied to study for a fee and wish to cancel their participation, must submit a written notice electronically to sagkursi@lu.lv by 03.07.2017.
  • Late applications will be considered only if there are vacancies.
  • Please note the deadlines for Latvian state and University of Latvia scholarships.
  • Applicants are advised to have an insurance coverage as the University of Latvia cannot take any responsibility for covering personal travel and medical costs.
  • The University of Latvia will process applicants’ personal data only for UL study process and academic and administrative research purposes, scientific and statistical studies, as well as in other cases arising from contractual obligations of the students or the laws of the Republic of Latvia in the cases specified.
  • The University of Latvia reserves the right to claim the programme fee in accordance with the above-mentioned terms, if you have received a letter of confirmation from the summer school organizers and have failed to cancel your participation by submitting a written notification via e-mail.
  • Non-EU participants are responsible for their visa application and other related arrangements.
  • The Pre-Studies Training Centre of the University of Latvia, as the organizer of the Summer School, does not cover fees for visa services.
  • The University of Latvia helps with visa arrangements only to international students whose higher education establishments have entered bilateral international cooperation agreements with the University of Latvia.
  • The groups for students with little or no knowledge of Latvian are limited to 13 participants.
  • Please note that the registration fee is not refunded.
  • Latvian state and University of Latvia scholarship recipients must attend all classes and cultural activities (museums, a two-day trip to Ventspils, discussions) and take an exam, in case of non-compliance, the University has the right to require the payment in full - membership fee, and for Latvian state scholarship recipients - accommodation and subsistence costs in Riga.

 

Refund policy: 

  • If you withdraw or decline participation until 26.06.2017, we withhold 10 % from your paid participation fee.
  • If you withdraw or decline participation until 03.07.2017, we withhold 50% from your paid participation fee.
  • If the Pre-Studies Training Centre of the University of Latvia cancels the programme due to unforeseen circumstances, we will fully refund the programme fee or offer a substitute programme. Please note that the University cannot take any responsibility for covering personal travel costs. Thus, we recommend getting an insurance coverage.

NB! The above listed terms and conditions apply if you are forced to cancel your participation because your visa is refused or cancelled.
